Dr SIMEONS: its history

Publié le 25 mai 2025

Dr A. T. W. Simeons, endocrinologist (study of hormones), is the pioneer of the metabolic change cure. His protocol puts the body into a state of ketosis, similar to a ketogenic diet. However, it results in much greater weight loss, often twice that of a traditional ketogenic diet.

Dr Simeons was born in London in 1900, where he spent most of his childhood. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Heidelberg, continued his post-graduate studies in Germany and Switzerland, and finally moved to Hamburg where he enrolled at the School of Tropical Medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr Simeon concentrated on two areas. His work on malaria earned him the Order of Merit of the Red Cross from the Queen of England in 1931.

That same year, Dr Simeons travelled to India, where he lived until 1949. He practised medicine there and was able to observe a particular fact that would later be the trigger for the discovery linked to the protocol of the cure.

At that time, undernourished Indian women were giving birth to healthy babies. Dr Simeons noticed that these mothers were often very thin, but that their bodies produced large quantities of human chorionic gonadotropin.

This gonadotropin breaks down the mother’s fat reserves and passes them on to the child, promoting good health in children of normal weight. Dr Simeons therefore studied weight management in more detail. Then, in 1949, he moved to Rome, Italy, to finalise his research and write a publication entitled « Pounds & Inches: A New Approach To Obesity ». It was published in 1954 (the book is still on sale). According to his theory, fat breakdown usually occurs during periods of starvation, but after about 90 days, or during pregnancy, the fat around the joints and thighs breaks down to provide energy and nutrients.

In principle, these secondary fat reserves are not used by healthy people and can lead to weight gain.

Dr Simeons makes a surprising discovery in his book. Subjects subjected to a low-calorie diet combined with hormones experienced an overall weight loss. This protocol ‘remodelled’ the body.

He concludes that it was the secondary fat reserves that were broken down and that helped the subjects to slim down dramatically.

By compiling his findings in his manuscript, Dr Simeons has created one of the most atypical and effective detox and weight loss programmes.

Dr Simeons died in Rome in 1970.

Every year, thousands of people are inspired by this protocol, which has evolved while remaining close to the original version. They achieve excellent results.

The HCG hormone has been replaced by a radionic product manufactured by an Austrian laboratory, and the authorised diet has been refined over the years as scientific and nutritional knowledge has evolved. Quality supplementation has become a major asset and makes all the difference.
The naturopaths in our network revived this protocol in 2013 with the Lifeplus products, precise phases that are less drastic than Simeons. Thousands of testimonials have been shared since the introduction of this cure, with results that are each more incredible than the last.
